Thanks-living

The genesis of thanksgiving is acknowledging that the source of all blessings is from God. We have received spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3). The fact that we were not worthy of these blessings makes us always remember His work on the cross. When we gather around His Table we express our gratitude to Him.

We have also received material blessings. David knew this truth when he said “Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all (1 Chronicles 29:12). He is the creator of everything, and all blessings come from Him. If we are in need of money- He gives. If we need strength-He provides. If we are dishonored- He exalts us.

If we have received all these, then our thanksgiving must become thanks-living.

Impossible!!!

‘For nothing will be impossible with God’ Luke 1:37

These words were told by the angel to Mary in relation to birth of John. The angel gives details of the birth of Jesus and then tells about Elizabeth who is now conceived in her old age. The birth of Jesus shows that a virgin conceived by the Holy Spirit is possible only with God and a woman is conceived in her old age is also possible with God. Human mind or logic cannot find a reason for this. Can a woman conceive without human contact? Can a woman conceive in her old age? It is possible only with God. What we think is not possible with man; it is possible with God-the maker of man. What man thinks is impossible, God does the (Him)-possible.

Do you have an impossible problem? God does the impossible. Trust Him.

When you are facing the impossible, you can count on the God of the impossible. Amy Carmichael
