For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath. Deuteronomy 4:31.  God is a God of mercy. Mercy is not getting what we do deserve – judgment and hell, and getting what we do not deserve – heaven and His blessings. The Bible says that mercy is an attribute of God. Mercy can be defined as God’s divine goodness that He exercises towards His creatures. The mercy of God is expressed in a number of ways. We were the children of wrath and dead in our trespasses, but God being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us He made us alive with Christ. We experience God’s mercy when we acknowledge that He accepted us through Christ. His mercy is displayed in the salvation.

We experience God’s mercy in our daily lives. Our deeds are such that we live for ourselves, we ‘use’ our Lord more than we honour Him, we call upon Him just to get things done through Him, we praise Him with our lips but our heart is far from Him yet He loves us because He is merciful.
